The Lieutenant Governor’s Challenge is to complete the entire route around the Island in 4 stages over each year during his tenure on the Island. It is ideal for walkers with young families, or those with less of an appetite to conquer the 48.1 miles in the Main Walk, remember that any walker under the age of 16 registered with an adult goes free. You could just do the Lieutenant Governor’s Challenge for fun, or as preparation to undertake the Main Walk in future years.
This year, the Lieutenant Governor’s Challenge offers you the opportunity to complete the 13 mile route from Le Braye to the Finish Line at the Waterfront, which runs parallel with the Main Walk.
The Lieutenant Governor’s Challenge starts at 2:30pm from Le Braye, Checkpoint 9 and ends at the Finish Line at the Waterfront – everyone running a checkpoint is there to offer each of you support and encouragement.
An A4 map with important details about checkpoint opening hours and directions can be downloaded here: TMF Group Island Walk Map 2023. Please print if you wish to carry this on the day, there will be markers to guide you along the way.
If you want to start some training walks, please download the map and follow the route indicated.
